Management of the Older Adult in Primary Care (APRN) (release in progress)
Von Stephen Holt, MD, MS, Amy Howells, PhD, CPNP-AC/PC, Kimberly Posey, AGPCNP-BC, DNP, PhD, GS-C
As the population ages, primary care providers increasingly face complex challenges in caring for older patients. This course equips providers with the knowledge and tools necessary to provide high-quality, patient-centered care to this vulnerable population. Building upon foundational knowledge in adult primary care, the course focuses on the specific physiological, psychological, and social aspects of aging. Participants will learn to navigate the intricacies of managing multiple chronic diseases, recognize and address frailty, and implement strategies for comprehensive geriatric assessment.
Key areas of focus include advanced care planning, cognitive impairments, often overlooked aspects of elder care such as sleep disorders and sexuality, and conducting thorough physical examinations tailored to the older adult. By the end of this course, AGNPs will be better prepared to provide holistic, compassionate care that promotes the dignity, independence, and quality of life of older adults in primary care settings. This course serves as a crucial link between general adult primary care and specialized geriatric medicine, equipping providers with the skills to manage the majority of older adult health issues while recognizing when specialist referral is necessary.

Very good lecture. I would include central vs peripheral approach.
von Vera K. am 31. August 2024 für Differential Diagnosis: Approach to a Patient with Vertigo
This is a very important lecture. “Dizziness” is one of the main presenting complaint in the stroke clinics. I think it would be useful a central vs peripheral approach, and to explain in more detail the physical examination findings that suggest central causes vs peripheral. If this was included in the lecture, I would have rated as 5 stars, as it has been very useful lecture and well presented lecture. Thank you very much.
Great lecture
