Common Geriatric Syndromes (APRN) (release in progress)

Von Amy Howells, PhD, CPNP-AC/PC, Kimberly Posey, AGPCNP-BC, DNP, PhD, GS-C

Geriatric syndromes are complex, multifactorial health conditions that occur when accumulated impairments across multiple systems make older adults vulnerable to health challenges. Understanding these syndromes is crucial for healthcare providers, as they significantly impact quality of life and healthcare outcomes in our aging population.

This course explores how age-related changes in cellular function and organ systems contribute to common geriatric syndromes. Prior knowledge of adult health assessment, pharmacology, and pathophysiology is essential, as students will examine how multiple chronic conditions interact with and influence the development of these syndromes.
